CREATIVITY
On 28 March, 2017, I was back in the UK in my home town of Warrington, for a very special 60th birthday celebration!
Nope, it wasn’t one of my relatives, it was one of my favourite musicians of all time, Marc Almond.
It was one of only four dates to celebrate his birthday year, and 36 years of chart success!
I think the older I get, the more creative I get. I don't have the distractions I had when I was young.
Marc Almond
I’d already booked my trip home before I knew of the tour. How cool was that!
He was playing at the Parr Hall – in the newly dubbed ‘Cultural Quarter’ – a designated Grade II listed building on the National Heritage List.
Music has always played an important part of my life – I’d actually played at the Parr Hall with my secondary school – and Marc is an ‘almost constant’ on my playlist.
From my late teens as a student in London, to the present day, he’s been part of my own journey of creativity. Am I more creative than I was as youngster? Possibly… but I’m definitely more focussed.
Have you become more creative as you’ve got older?
